Use of the Property
Room Occupancy & Children
The Pig Shed occupancy is strictly for two people. We accept babies, in addition, however we are not able to supply cots or highchairs as we don’t have enough storage space on site.
You must not use the Cottage or the site for any illegal, dangerous, offensive, noxious or noisy activities or behave in a way that may be a nuisance or annoyance to us, other guests or our neighbours. Gills is a peaceful location and we ask that you respect that and our other guests. As such, the playing of music, singing or other excessive noise that can be heard outside of your cottage after 9pm is not permitted.
Dogs
We are dog friendly by prior arrangement but please let us know at time of booking. We do charge a supplement of £30 per dog which we donate to dog rescues.
Please be aware that your dog/s must not be left unattended, or on furniture, at any time.
We supply biodegradable dog waste bags, along with an exterior dog waste bin & we ask that owners remove clean up after their dogs before departing. We also request that dog owners always keep their dogs on leads in the surrounding neighbourhood. We are situated in open farmland. It is now an offence for dogs to be in with livestock even if they are not causing harm. Farmers are allowed to shoot dogs if they are seen worrying livestock & we would hate for that to happen.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cats.
Damages & Lost Property
Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages/ damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £100 if you did not report this.
Lost keys will incur a replacement charge per key lost.
Any lost property, if discovered and found, left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners, we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belongings before checking-out. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss, or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Wifi Fair & Appropriate usage
WiFi access is provided, guests are asked to use this fairly and appropriately. We can’t have a fiber internet connection & so we can’t do anything to improve the wifi we offer.
The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the internet for email, messaging, social media, light video / music / media streaming. It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads / uploads. Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is not prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.
Right of Entry
We shall be allowed reasonable right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance
Smoking
The property is strictly no smoking (complying with UK laws). There is an external ashtray located in the car park for guests use.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Pig Shed.
